Before Your Treatment
The first thing you will want to do is schedule a one-on-one consultation with our dermatologist who will address your concerns, assess your skin, and determine whether you are a candidate for the treatment. There are no specific pre-skin care regimens associated with Ultherapy. However, in some cases, your practitioner may recommend that you take an over-the-counter or prescribed medication before the treatment to enhance your comfort.
During Your Treatment
After cleansing the skin and identifying the specific areas to be treated, your Ultherapy® practitioner will apply the ultrasound gel and place the smooth treatment applicator against your skin. Next, your provider will use Ultherapy®’s ultrasound imaging to first see deep within the skin to determine the optimal placement of the treatment energy, and then deliver the focused ultrasound energy beneath the skin’s surface.
After Your Treatment
With Ultherapy®, there is no downtime! You can return to your normal activities immediately after your procedure without any post-treatment restrictions or requirements. Your skin might appear flushed at first, but the redness should disappear within a few hours. Some patients experience slight swelling, tingling, or tenderness to the touch, but these are mild and temporary in nature. Other, less common post-procedural effects may include temporary bruising or numbness on small areas of skin. As with any medical procedure, there is the possibility for other rare effects, which your practitioner will review with you.
Does It Hurt?
A recent software upgrade called “Ultherapy® Amplify” now offers a more comfortable procedure. While comfort thresholds vary from patient to patient, most patients now report that the procedure is quite tolerable. If and when any discomfort does occur, it happens while the ultrasound energy is being delivered. This sensation is temporary and is a positive signal that the collagen-building process has been initiated.
How Long Do the Effects Last?

How Many Treatments Does It Take?

Who is a Good Candidate for Ultherapy®?
A good candidate for Ultherapy® is someone with skin that has some degree of laxity, to the point of looking, and often feeling. Are There Any Side Effects?
There may be slight redness for up to an hour or so following the treatment, and a small percentage of patients may have slight swelling, tingling, or tenderness to touch, but these are mild and temporary in nature.

Platelets Rich Plasma (PRP)
What is PRP?
Platelet Rich Plasma, commonly called “PRP,” is human blood spun down and separated, producing a concentration of platelets above average values. It stimulates cell growth where it is injected, helping your body heal itself naturally without using chemicals or foreign substances of any kind. Studies suggest that growth factors released by platelets recruit reparative cells, may augment tissue repair, and accelerate soft tissue healing. PRP is now being used cosmetically to stimulate collagen and hair growth, enhance skin texture, and for facial rejuvenation.
Creation of PRP is simple and conveniently done at a clinic visit. The process of drawing blood for solution preparation only takes approximately 25-30 minutes. A small amount of blood is drawn from the patient, just like a routine blood test. Once the blood is drawn, it is then placed in a centrifuge that spins the blood at high speeds in order to separate the blood into red blood cells and concentrated platelets.
